Steady As You Go

As a senior, you hope you will never fall, but Grey-Bruce statistics show that falls are the most common injury resulting in hospitalization among seniors (one out of every 38 seniors will fall and be hospitalized). Yet, most falls have causes which can be prevented and Steady As You Go will show you how.

Steady As You Go (SAYGO) is a fall prevention program aimed at seniors who are still living independently in the community.

**Developed in consultation with seniors**

Fun and Informative - Participants will be given a client handbook to score themselves on personal risks of falling. The video, Fitness For Preventing Falls, which includes a program to improve leg strength and balance will also be available.

Interested? Clients attend a 1 ½ hour group session, led by a facilitator, and should wear clothes suitable for exercise. One month later, clients attend a 1 hour follow-up session.

SAYGO is free and this program is brought to your community by the Coalition for the Prevention of Falls in Older Adults, Durham, Ontario.
